Telstra is out to make as much money as possible, while (arguably still) being tied to the government in such a way that makes the whole playing field totally uneven.  The result is your aforementioned arseholery.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;What sucks more than anything is how much Telstra is trying to drag consumers into this debate.  Telstra's US bosses think they can lobby their way to market domination like they do in the US.  It works there; it doesn't here.  I am sick to death of getting pamphlets from Telstra telling me how mean and nasty the ACCC is, and how Telstra wants to benefit all Australians but isn't allowed to.  Who the hell lobbies their victims like this??
