You should definitely re-do the Golden Age of Television, is only so we can hear the epic ident again.
But if you were, you might have to expand it to epic teevee in general, so that the best teevee show of all time could be included. I refer, of course, to M*A*S*H, which needs to be shown on a loop on some obscure cable network. I would get cable for the express purpose of subscribing to that channel.
Especially since channel bit torrent is incredibly un-helpful when it comes to M*A*S*H.

Your copies of M*A*S*H are probably sitting with copies of The Goodies on some shelf somewhere labelled "Do Not Torrent".

Very weird to hear the Ratings ident again after all this time. Man... chicken... heh...

7pm Project: Clunky, but an OK start. Hughesy is wooden (ie, make joke- wait for laugh- if laugh not coming- make face until someone steps in), but Charlie Pickering is a good host. I haven't got Foxtel, so I never saw The Mansion, but he seems pretty comfortable with the host mantle.

Would like a little more surreal humour in there, but that's just me. I keep expecting a picture of the Pope to pop up momentarily.

They speed through topics so it doesn't get bogged down, which can be a blessing and a curse. If you're interested, it's way too fast, if you're not, it's only a minute or so before they're onto something else.

    Two cents, spent.

It's interesting that you think M*A*S*H should be on a never-ending loop. I was recently discussing it with a friend of mine and it's a really interesting case for a TV sitcom.

I think it's worth discussing, for sure. Stay tuned.

There was an interesting blog post from The Rude Pundit about Cronkite - you can find it here

Do you think perhaps they didn't announce the winners of homeMADE so they didn't have to pay them anything in winnings?

I think another reason MasterChef did so well is that it was screened at dinner time.

I heard the same 'Leafbusters' ad on radio the other day and the levels weren't anywhere near as bad, so perhaps blame (or thank) the poor production on TV.

Maybe they did the Rope-inspired episode of Psychoville with a view to the marathon viewing of TV series on DVD these days - it makes a nice intermission.
