Its now on 6:30 Sunday.

Re: Boxcutters Episode 96

I agree with Brett about the sloppiness of the production in the finale of Lost : although I didn't notice quite as many things straight off, the keypad sequence, in particular, was just really wrong. The production team know that the show is picked to pieces; I can't imagine that they would've let something like that through unless there was a reason for it. Maybe Charlie punching in the wrong sequence is going to be a big clue to a parallel universe theory, which seems to have credence when you check out the latest Dharma film (as opposed to time travel).

==========

I've really enjoyed watching Love My Way, but the big problem I have with it is that I just don't buy Claudia Karvan's depiction of this bohemian, free spirit that is supposed to be Frankie; every other character rings true for me except Frankie, apart from the period when she was investigating her grief through her art after Lou's death - she just comes across as too uptight.

It's been about 10 months between screenings of each season, counting from the last ep of the previous season to the first ep of the next, which is a little longer than we're probably accustomed to with most series. Foxtel also banged out season 3 initially in double eps on Showtime. I agree that it has been quite dark, but I think the double eps actually diminished the impact because the season was over so quickly.

Apart from the influence of Six Feet Under on the show, they also seem to have borrowed the final family scene of each season from The Sopranos, seated around a table for a meal.

I'm really not sure if I agree that it should be included in GAT; although, if you're looking for an Australian inclusion, I can't think of another show I'd put in its place... except maybe some comedy like The Games, if only for its spooky ability to foreshadow actual events. (Someone I knew was working for the Sydney 2000 Olympics and the staff were apparently often freaked out about the uncanny similarities - particularly considering it had been filmed well before said events occurred.)

Re: Boxcutters Episode 96

A couple of updates from what I mentioned in the Lost section on this week's show...

The new orientation film shown at Comic Con was presented by Dr. Edgar Hallowax, not Marvin Candle - though the same guy. Also, he doesn't have a prosthetic arm or eye in this video.

Check it out, with a transcript and chatter at darkufo

Re: Boxcutters Episode 96

Now that I've actually listened to (most of)the show:

Happy Birthday Ross!

(Your prezzies will arrive shortly)

Re: Boxcutters Episode 96

woah - your messin with my space-time continuum. and... where's my delorian.. josh? did you take my delorian? is that how you got here? and shit.. what am i going to listen to tomorrow nighht.. this is.. umm... er... argh! my head hurts.

i've been aiming to get wierder with my posts? how'm i doin?

Re: Boxcutters Episode 96

Holy granola, Batman ... 27 hours early!
