Is it just random selection by the networks, or a program or personality they want to push? The examples of John Wood, Blue Heelers and Backyard Blitz really do highlight how ridiculous it is (although I reckon John Wood should be nominated every year for the Gold until he dies - it's a tradition, after all)

Ross, you're an advertising apologist.

I think rove. on Sundays is a good spot for it - the rest of the night is pap or soap, and it's light enough to soothe you into Monday, but as a BB non-viewer I doubt I'll be watching for the next 12 weeks. And brown works well for chocolate.
Josh, do you think you should also consider the size of the studio in your argument regarding desks and guests? If you're at a desk in a smaller studio - like Larry King where there isn't the huge audience, as opposed to Letterman where there is - I reckon the guest is more likely to lean in to the conversation. It's more than just whether there's a physical barrier between them.

Jared - get stuffed. *grin*

Minnie [Driver] is a childhood nickname - her real name is Amelia.

Re: Boxcutters Episode 80

Hey Paul

No idea re:Survivor. Last I heard was around Easter, but that has come and gone. I am surprised it hasn't popped back up in its 7:30 getting thrashed by Star Dancers Tuesday slot.

It is interesting though given the fuss at this time last year when Channel 9 delayed Series 12 I think it was for the Pepsi Olympics. This time round nobody seems to care as much. Survivor disinterest? People sick of complaining? A rise in those torrenting? Who knows?

Whatever, it is pretty shabby treatment by Nine.

Re: Boxcutters Episode 80

re: YouTube

I think you should avoid the technical hassle and copyright issues of posting actual TV recordings.

Instead, you guys should wear jumpsuits, and use mime and interpetive dance to illustrate the TV shows being discussed.

Of course, that's exactly what the video podcast is like, but it would mean people could just download the best bits.

Re: Boxcutters Episode 80

yo - great show this week.

Re: Boxcutters Episode 80

Wow, I just listened back to the show and we're pretty up for it this week.

When Josh says I Don't Buy It (Lite), he's talking about the subject of the ad not the quality of our discourse.

BB

Re: Boxcutters Episode 80

Jeez guys your so behind!
