Every media source that I have read about this has Trump "resigning" rather than being waiting for the imminent sacking. He hardly even participates in the show anymore so I can't see how he would be too busy. I just realised that I didn't watch the finale of the current season having sat through week after week of the actual show. I think that is probably a good indication of the enthusiasm that exists for the show now.

Perhaps the Apprentice-sized hole can be filled by On The Lot, the Steven Spielberg / Mark Burnett co-production which has just started in the US. It sounds similar in concept to Project Greenlight but on a grander scale and focusing (pardon the pun) on directors rather than writers.
